1. Article (Essay) E.1 Merton, Thomas, 1915-1968; 1989 Road to joy "Concerning the Catholic Peace Fellowship : three letters and a statement" contains variant versions of statement with related correspondence. Clarifies that despite rumors to the contrary, he had not left the monastery, but had entered further seclusion at Gethsemani and would not be able to comment on current events and politics. However, he remains in support of the aims of the Catholic Peace Fellowship and positive, constructive means toward seeking peace, but that this does not mean he stands by every action the organization makes or actions by individual members.
