This brief correspondence mainly concerns the upcoming abbatial election at Gethsemani to elect a replacement for Dom James. This file contains an original letter from Fr. Linus Doerner, a carbon copy of Merton's response, and a letter co-signed by Linus and four other monks studying in Rome.

Biography

Fr. Linus was a monk of Gethsemani Abbey writing to Merton while away at studies in Rome.
