Scope and Content

Merton addresses Mrs. Salmond's worries about whether she needs to change her long-held beliefs in response to some of the new theology she has read about in the press. Merton advises that we do not all need to be "newspaper theologians changing our ideas from week to week until the Creed stands on its head." He suggests that she maintain some independence and look beyond the fads in popular theology.
