Merton responds to a complaint by Fr. Andrew Roduskey, which Merton shares, of machinery such as lawnmowers disturbing lectures and sermons. Merton gives his opinion that he has come to accept that the machines are here to stay but ways to schedule times when the noise will not occur during times when it might interrupt.

Biography

Fr. Andrew Roduskey is a Trappist monk of Gethsemani Abbey.
