 1964/03/31 TL[c]from MertonAccording to the terminology used in Catholic moral theology, the word "scruples" is used only  psychological neurosis in the original Latin meaning of "scruples", but the contrast with present English use and what the Catholic Church means by a "sensitive and realistic conscience" / good and evil in moral theology / the limited usage of Papal infallibility and the collegiality involved in most of such decisions
