Scope and Content

Merton was friends with many at the nearby Loretto motherhouse in Nerinx, Kentucky, including Sister Mary Luke Tobin. Merton writes in 1962 before some novices have taken simple vows. In 1964, some of the novices from the Sisters of Loretto in Colorado sent Merton a Christmas card they had made, and Merton responds with a letter of thanks.
