Part of an accession from Gethsemani Abbey received December 2013. The title seems to be a draft of an unpublished book after the also unpublished "Cloud and the Fire" (December 1948). The opening section on Adam from "The Cloud and the Fire" would be used as an opening section of this book. The Ascent to Truth (1951) eventually adopted the same strategy of opening with this section; however, the contents page and fragments suggest a very different book from either the planned "Cloud and the Fire" and the later Ascent to Truth. Planned sections also include A Balanced Life of Prayer with a new beginning.
