QuotationI think you are right when you say that Catholic spirituality has been too individualistic. That is just another way of saying that it has been the product of a middle-class environment. Carl Amery's book Capitulation has plenty to say about this kind of "milieu Catholicism" in Nazi Germany. We are about to have the same problems here. Though perhaps not quite in the same way. Unfortunately, I am not sure that a more revolutionary Catholicism cast in the mold of a socialist society is going to be much help either. We can't just go on fitting into somebody else's mold.
